British Alpaca Wool Duvets

British Alpaca Wool Duvets are made in the UK from the finest British wool and with luxury organic cotton covers. Warmer than standard wool, Alpaca Wool is not prickly and has no lanolin which makes it hypoallergenic. Resistant to dust mites, natural Alpaca wool allows the body to regulate temperature more effectively. The superior wicking properties will keep you feeling dry and fresh while you sleep.

Alpaca Wool sourced right here in the UK is the ideal environmentally and fully sustainable duvet filling. The breathable hollow fibres help with heat regulation all night long. Wool does not make you too hot or too cold, making it perfect for the diverse weather we live in. We all need a good night’s sleep so getting the right duvet is essential. So, make sure you pick the right tog ratings and you are good to go, the filling is the key as nobody likes hot night sweats or cold spots. Wool from Alpacas is also natural, there are no harmful chemicals or bleaches used in the manufacturing process, they are steamed cleaned and that is it. The filling is extremely light weight and covers the entire duvet surface area, no need to shake it every night, it does not clump together leaving the body uncovered and more importantly is it hypoallergenic making it ideal for children and the elderly.

British Alpaca Wool Duvets

Allergies are more prolific these days as we tend to insulate ours homes more, especially during the colder months. This is the ideal breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites, this is where the natural properties of wool come into play. Dust mites hate the fibres so they tend to avoid wool at all costs. Alpaca wool is also lanolin free, perfect for the environment. They come in three different types of heat levels, summer, all seasons and winter weights. The summer version is ideal for the warmer months, like the end of spring right though to early September. It helps to keep you warm but will release trapped warm air when it gets too hot, just like it would naturally when on the sheep. The All Seasons option is like a 10.5 tog duvet, if you do not get hot at night and you have an even all year round temperature you can use this duvet in both summer and winter, the Alpaca wool will regulate your body’s temperature and adjust accordingly. The winter weight is for the really cold months, very much like a 13.5 tog duvet, if you feel the cold this is the option for you, you never see a cold sheep out in the fields, they can just stand there in the harshest of conditions as they are well protected from the elements.

Also, another good reason to buy an Alpaca Wool Duvet is to support the British farming industry, especially the rural community. Wool is well known for being sustainable and good to the environment. Farmers care passionately about their flocks and ensure that the wool they produce is of the highest quality. Alpacas are not intensively reared, they are extremely well looked after and thrive right here in the UK. You can buy with confidence that you are doing your part for the British economy and environment as well as buying a top quality duvet made in the UK. Should you require any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at Duvets Direct as we are more than happy to help.

IDENTIFYING BRITISH WOOL PRODUCTS

British Wool operates a licensee scheme which helps consumers to easily identify products with a genuinely high content of British wool.

Our licensee scheme has recently been re-launched, featuring the new logos displayed opposite. As the scheme is new, there are relatively few products in the market place which feature the new logos, but it’s still easy to identify a British wool product.
