Goose Feather and Down Duvets

Are you looking for a new duvet, have you considered a feather and down duvet? This type of filling is very good at keeping you warm and snug in winter as it traps in all that essential warmth. Feathers are heavier than down so the duvet just drapes effortlessly over your body leaving no gaps for cold air to penetrate. The down also gives that extra softness to the feathers so it will still feel light and breathable giving that luxurious hotel quality feeling all night long. We source our feather and down fillings from European farms, mainly from countries such as Scandinavia and Hungary as they have some of the harshest winters and the geese produce some of the very best quality feathers, as you can imagine if they are warm in this environment outside just imagine how you are going to feel wrapped up in a quality duvet.

Goose feather and down duvets also have the advantage of being a natural product and with modern steam cleaning techniques they are now all Nomite and Downasan certified, so they are ideal for children, the elderly and any allergy sufferers. They have a significant price advantage over pure down duvets and offer a completely different sleeping environment. Down duvets are good for people that get too hot and need a lightweight duvet, feather duvets are ideal for those of us that need a warm snug sleep, they are the best option in the colder winter months and are superb for snuggling up in. If you sleep without the central heating on, get a feather duvet as they made for this. They are comparable in price with a good quality microfibre filling but they excel in drape and feel over the synthetic fills. Just give them a good shake every now and then and the filling just gets revitalised again when the air is shaken back into the filling, just like you can with a down duvet, but this is not applicable to a microfibre duvet which can just flatten over time.

So, we have made our minds up, we are going for a goose feather and down duvet, this filling sounds right for me, but wait, what about the cover, will the feather just poke through while I am asleep? This is a very good question and one that needs the right solution, we only use the very best cotton cambric covers that have no more than a 233 thread count. Anything above this is ideal for a down duvet as down does not have the quills but the feathers do, so a stronger and thicker cotton cambric material is required. Complete with cassette stitching to ensure that the filling cannot migrate from cell to cell and internal baffle walls that keep the filling from clumping together in the corners. Most of our European and branded fillings are made right here in the UK, so you can be rest assured that you are getting exactly what you have paid for.
